CalWORKs serves individuals who are clients of the County Employment and Human Services Department. Most individuals are on TANF for financial assistance. All ROP adult classes are open to CalWORKs clients.
Carl Perkins clients are individuals enrolled in ROP training classes who are identified as disadvantaged in one or more of the following categories: physical handicaps, economically disadvantaged, educationally disadvantaged and/or entering a nontraditional occupation. Through this project, the Career Development Program provides supplemental services to help Carl Perkins clients succeed.
ROP contracts with three local beauty schools to provide training to students. Paris Beauty College in Concord and World Visions College of Cosmetology in Oakland offer cosmetology, manicuring, and aesthetician classes. Delta Beauty College in Antioch offers cosmetology and manicuring.
