Categorical State and Federal Programs
Categorical programs are designed to support the academic success of students who are most at-risk of not meeting state standards. This area of the web site is designed to support schools and districts, and Categorical Program Directors (CPD), with the implementation of these educational programs by providing the most current information shared at the monthly California Department of Education (CDE) meetings, as well as those held at the Contra Costa County Office of Education (CCCOE).

The Contra Costa County Office of Education hosted the San Francisco Bay Area Common Core State Standards Summit, October 29th and 30th, to address next steps in implementation with a focus on policy, assessment, and specific instructional strategies and implications.
Featured speakers and keynote speakers included, Kathy Glass, Delaine Eastin, Patrick Traynor, Ph.D., Hung Hsi-Wu, Ph.D., Bill Honig, and Robert Linquanti. Below is a link to the schedule with summit resources.
