The Academic Decathlon is a competitive event for high school students aimed at encouraging and honoring scholastic accomplishments. 2012 Results...

National History Day is a national program, with state and regional (county-level) competitions, in which students prepare projects – posters, exhibits, papers, websites, dramatic performances and documentary films – on a historical theme.

The Model United Nations is an exciting, educational way for high school students to learn about global issues. The Model U.N. simulates the activities of a U.N. body such as the Security Council or the General Assembly. Students assume the roles of diplomatic representatives to the U.N., as they consider contemporary international concerns

The Mock Trial Program is sponsored by the Constitutional Rights Foundation (CRF). Each year CRF creates a mock trial that addresses serious matters facing young people today. The 2012 Mock Trial will be held in Martinez courtrooms on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in February 2012. 2012 Results...

The Mock Trial Invitational event offers participating schools the opportunity to scrimmage against two teams, once as prosecution and once as defense. The event is for both Contra Costa County teams and out of county teams; all teams will be scheduled so that their trials will be with teams that are not from their home county.

The Contra Costa County Office of Education is a proud sponsor of the Intel-Affiliated Contra Costa County Science & Engineering Fair. An overview of the Science Fair, which was established in 2006, can be found here.
